What’s the guide to a balance lifestyle?

so glad you asked!

Try the acronym N-E-W-S-T-A-R-T developed by the Weimar Institute for Health.

N- stands for Nutrition. Eat a really healthy diety made up largely of plant-based foods and eat as much ripe, fresh, raw, juicy, lovely, organic fruits and vegetables as you can afford. Cut down or eliminate dairy, eggs, and other animal products– just too many contaminants in them to take the chance these days if you really want to experience great health and balance. Elilminate highly processed foods from your diet (sugars, transfatty acids). Eat when you are hungry but not after 8 p.m. Eat with other people (positive people) and be grateful for the food you have to nourish your body with.

E- stands for Exercise: Do the exercises that you enjoy and you will stick with them longer. Exercise every day. You can read about the benefits of exercise all over the Web.

W- stands for Water. Drink clean, filtered water. Cut down or eliminate caffeine, soda, highly processed fruit drinks, dairy and other non-nutritional drinks from your life– water is the best!

S- stands for Sunlight. Get out in it whenever you have a chance. If sunlight is hard to get, go somewhere brightly lit during your day and be with other positive people. Sunlight is great and promotes wellbeing because of the Vitamin D that it helps your body produce.

T- stands for Temperance. Moderation in all things. Strive to live a balanced life: one of peace and prudence, vs. spiking and crashing, spiking and crashing.

A- stands for Air. Breathe properly. Get out in the fresh air as much as you can (gardening, walking, etc.) Protect your family’s air supply: ban smoking and noxious chemicals from your house.

R- stands for Rest. Get your 8+ hours of quality rest in each day. Remember that 1 hour of sleep before midnight=2 hours after midnight. Find ways to destress (exercise, as above).

T- stands for Trust in God/Higher Power- the real key to balance for most of us.

All the best!
